We shall have all eternity in which to celebrate our victories, but we have only one swift hour before the sunset in which to win them.
Ruby Buckle celebrated turning one on October 5th! Our official launch took place last year at a Christian women’s conference right here in central Minnesota. It was a blessing to attend the conference again this year and to have so many wonderful conversations with the women who stopped by to see us. A very special thank-you to our newest ministry partner, Veronica, for serving so beautifully there throughout the entire conference!
Thank you to each of you who said “yes” to joining Ruby Buckle’s mission of sharing the Truly Loved booklet with three people in your life – via beautiful cards with handwritten messages or in designer gift bags filled with treats or treasures. We are truly grateful that you have joined our mission!
What a joy it was to have many who took the challenge last year return this year telling wonderful stories about their experiences of sharing our products with others. And to all who made another commitment to do it again this year, may you be greatly blessed for your passion to reach out to others to share God's love. Thank you for carrying the light of the gospel out into the world via the Truly Loved booklet.
Many people I had the opportunity to speak with had it on their hearts to reach out to someone who is grieving the loss of a precious loved one. The days of autumn have brought news of many deaths of cherished friends and family members in my circle of friends as well. The words “a time to die,” from Solomon’s Ecclesiastes discourse “A Time for Everything,” have taken on new depths lately.
I loved the opportunity to make some new friends at the conference, and I was overjoyed by getting to see some friends that I haven’t seen for many years. Two of the “old” friends I was reunited with this year hold a special place in my heart – we share connections through the loss of a loved one.
They are beautiful women whose lives are living examples of the mission of Ruby Buckle, this precious company of women helping each other on the journey of life and faith.
These women have a heartfelt confidence in God and are committed to being kind and faithful friends. They gaze into each other's lives, truly see their hurts and vulnerabilities, and they bring hope and help. Sometimes it comes in the form of a handwritten note or a phone call. Other times, it's an invitation to lunch or a Bible study. Their thoughtfulness is a blessing to those who might be hurting or crushed in spirit. Their own experiences of pain give them tender hearts toward others, always pointing them to the ever faithful Friend, Jesus.
He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious.
Matthew 12:20 NLT
Let us with cheerful confidence commit our souls to so kind and faithful a Friend. Far from breaking, he will strengthen the bruised reed; far from quenching the smoking flax, or wick nearly out, he will rather blow it up into a flame. Let us lay aside contentious and angry debates; let us receive one another as Christ receives us. And while encouraged by the gracious kindness of our Lord, we should pray that his Spirit may rest upon us, and make us able to copy his example.
